My Shadow

My Shadow

My mom calls me her shadow. I go EVERYWHERE she goes. The only time I don’t get up to follow her around is if I’m being lazy laying in her bed, which usually I still make the effort to get up and see what she is doing and make sure she is ok. I am just trying to watch out for her and make sure she doesn’t get into any trouble. You never know what humans will get into.

Here is a picture of me while mom is doing the dishes. Sitting on the rug right next to her, never know what could happen. “Are you done yet?, This is taking forever”. She made it through safe though, because I was there to protect her, of course.

In the morning I lay on the end of the bed and watch my mom while she gets ready. Then I follow her upstairs where she and I eat breakfast together. She lets me outside and I roam in the yard for awhile, making frequent trips back to the top deck to make sure she is still there. Soon mom leaves for work but when she gets home I great her with instant excitement and wiggly butt tail wags. For the rest of the night it’s pretty much whatever she wants to do, I sit with her on the couch while she is on her computer, I follow her up and down the stairs while she is doing laundry, and she comes with me for a walk (which I protect her from other humans and strange dogs that walk by). When supper comes around I sit on this same rug while mom cooks, but sometimes she makes me go lay on my bed, apparently she doesn’t enjoy me trying to get a bite to eat in-between watching out for her every move. Mom feeds me when they eat, but if they step foot out of the kitchen you can be sure I will be right behind.

When we go for walks, for some reason, Mom likes to use the leash, she worries about me I guess. Even though there is no reason, I walk just far enough ahead where I can explore but keep an eye on my mom and dad to make sure they stay out of trouble.

I have earned the nickname “My Shadow”, but I won’t complain. Every second I spend with my humans is pretty amazing and well worth it.

Ruca the Boxer Mix

20140221-191116.jpg

My name is Ruca, I am a 2 year old boxer mix. I am 3/4 boxer and 1/4 Doberman, the dobbie definitely stands out in my lean slender build but I have all of the traditional markings and fun energetic traits of a typical boxer. But don’t let that fool you, because I am NOT your typical dog. My mom and dad came and picked me out when I was only a few weeks old. They saw me online and knew I would change their life forever, they day they came to pick me out someone else was holding me, admiring how cute I was. My mom already saw my pic online and knew I was the one, as soon as the other family put me down my mom snatched me right up and said “We’ll take her”. I was too cute for them to resist. Mom and dad came and visited me at my dog mom’s house until I was big enough to go home with them. From the day I came home with them we have been pretty much inseparable. They try to take me every where they go. Mostly I enjoy going to the dog park, running every chance I get, barking at squirrels, playing with my sister Mystic and cuddling with my mom and dad. I am a lover not a fighter but stick up for myself when I need to and protect my mom and dad from all the strangers who walk by and of course the mail man. I also enjoying chewing on my moms shoes and expensive clothes, but have learned chewing on my toys doesn’t get me in trouble. I have a big heart and am pretty sure I am part human.

Mystic the Catahoula Mix

20140221-190927.jpg

Hi, my name is Mystic. I am a Catahoula mix. My mom and dad adopted me from a rescue, they were told I was an Amercian Bulldog mix but have obvious signs of Catahoula in my coat and personality. But it doesn’t matter what I am, I am cute no matter what. My mom was looking at the local rescues and came across my picture. They were looking for another puppy and friend for Ruca and mom knew she had to have me. She told my dad and he was hesitant at first but eventually fell for my cuteness. They next day they went to the adoption event and I was still there, they walked straight over to the adoption counter and filled out paperwork to take me home. They took me home that day and we have been a family ever since. The day they took me home they knew I was going to be a ball of fire and have a HUGE personality. I jumped right on Ruca and wasn’t afraid to bite her neck and play rough. I always stand my ground and never give up, I like to think I am the alpha, but my mom tells me otherwise. I am not afraid of much, even big great danes at the dog park. The only thing that scares me is the vacuum and garbage bags. I enjoy guarding the house with my sister Ruca, going to the dog park, playing with my toys and running in the yard. Since mom and dad have rescues me I have had a few scares at the vet, the last week I decided it would be a good idea to eat something I shouldn’t have and had to spend the day at the vet. Mom and Dad said I scared them half to death, but I was only being a puppy and whatever I ate sure tasted good. As you can see I have a lot of fun.
